Car Park Repairs - Thanks to one unsung hero

On behalf of all members, parents and supporters I would like to express a massive thank you to Richard, our Group Treasurer.

For the past 6 months he has worked tirelessly over countless evenings, days and weekends to repair and replace the car park area.Moving 8 lorry loads of material by hand, he has completely transformed the area. Much of which had become overgrown with weeds, and had worn away to such an extent we did not know if we could keep using the car park, particularly over the coming winter months.Like many of us he has a full time job and a family but still makes time to donate his time and expertise to the local community. 

He has saved the Group well in excess of £10,000 and without him this crucial job would simply not have been possible.As well as being our treasurer Richard has untaken numerous practical jobs to keep the fabric of the Hall and Grounds in useable order. Much of this goes unnoticed and saves us thousands of pounds each year. Without Richard we would need to turn to commercial companies which would have a significant increase on the monthly subs adding £100-£200 per member per year.

You are a true legend – Thank you.

As a Group we have a fantastic team of volunteer leaders and a couple of supporters that undertake all the work that is needed to keep our charity running, but we desperately need more help, particularly in the up keep of the hall and grounds; help with cutting grass, general tidying or garden as well as helping with parent rotas for some sections. 

If you could help out please talk with your section leader at the next meeting. It is by working together we keep the group running for every young person. 

The monthly subs only covers the very basics (such as rates, rent, insurance and utilities)
